AI Issues

Check these first:

  1. Internet connection — AI features require an active connection. Verify you are online.
  2. Signed in — make sure you are signed in to your Dusky account.
  3. Subscription status — if your free trial or subscription has expired, AI features are disabled. Check your account status in Settings.
  4. Capture first — press Cmd/Ctrl+H to screenshot a question, then Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to solve. AI needs input to work with.
  • Think Deeper mode (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Enter) intentionally takes longer because the AI performs extended reasoning. Standard solve (Cmd/Ctrl+Enter) is faster.
  • A slow response can also mean high load on the AI provider. Wait a few seconds and try again.
  • Check your internet speed — a slow connection delays both the request and response.
  • Capture a clean screenshot. Zoom in on the question so it fills the screen. Avoid capturing unrelated content like browser tabs or chat windows.
  • Use audio transcription for spoken questions. A clear transcript gives better results than a screenshot of a video call where the question is only spoken.
  • Try Think Deeper. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Enter for a more thorough analysis with edge cases and alternative approaches.
  • Clear and retry. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+K to clear, then Cmd/Ctrl+Enter again. Sometimes a fresh attempt produces a better result.

This appears when audio transcription is on but no speech has been detected yet. Either:

  • Wait for the interviewer to finish speaking, or
  • Press Cmd/Ctrl+H to capture a screenshot instead, then Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to solve from the image.
